For some years, the Nantes History Museum has maintained a policy for its temporary exhibitions which reflects the main themes in the new museum: Nantes, its region and its history - its portrayals - an open attitude to the world.
Since the opening in 1997 of the new rooms devoted to temporary exhibitions in the Military Saddlery (Harnachement), a series of events has been organised based on the key themes:
The land and its history:
Les Anneaux de la Mémoire, 1992, on the slave trade
Estuary, history of a port, from Nantes to Saint-Nazaire, 1997
The Edict of Nantes, 1998
Portrayals and people:

LU, manufacturer and artist, 1999
Ar Seiz Breur, a Breton artistic movement, 2001
