Disabled access
A commitment to access for people with a motor, visual or hearing disability or a learning difficulty lay at the core of the Castle restoration programme and the layout of the new Nantes History Museum.
Getting here:
- Tram: line 1 - Duchesse Anne stop.
- Bus : line 4.
- Three entrances: over the bridge (the main entrance), the Loire postern gate and the Pont de Secours. This entrance offers wheelchair access.
- Disabled spaces are provided in the Duchesse Anne car park. The Castle can be accessed directly from the left-hand end of the car park by the Pont de Secours, next to the Cours Saint Pierre.
Access inside the Castle
Almost all the Museum (29 out of 32 rooms) and some of the ramparts are accessible for persons with reduced mobility. A sensory trail for visually-impaired and blind visitors and for hearing-impaired and deaf visitors is also planned.
