Access to the site

5000 m2 are open to the public.

Entrance is free to the courtyard, ramparts and moat gardens: the Castle is open to casual visitors or just for a stroll every day (except on four public holidays during the year), with extensive opening hours.

Two old entrances have been reopened, in addition to the main entrance over the stone bridge: these are at the Loire postern gate [poterne de Loire] and the Emergency Bridge [pont de Secours]. They offer a different way of approaching the Castle.
